Bitsfront Inc. ("Bitsfront," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, request information, subscribe to updates, or apply for a role, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, and whatever you include in your message. If you apply for a job, this also includes your resume, work history, and any other material you send us.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our site we may collect your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the site or link that sent you to us, and the date and time of your visit. This happens through our hosting provider (GitHub Pages), our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare), and our analytics provider (Google Analytics).

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We group ours into three categories:

• Necessary. Required for the site to load, stay secure, and remember your cookie choices. These are always on and cannot be turned off.
• Analytics. Help us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it.
• Marketing. Used to tailor our outreach and measure whether it works.

Analytics and Marketing cookies are optional. You can choose which ones to allow through our Cookie Settings, and you can change your mind at any time by opening Cookie Settings again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser, though parts of the site may stop working properly if you block the Necessary ones.

Legal Basis for Processing

Bitsfront operates globally, and some privacy laws require us to identify a legal basis for using your information. Depending on the situation, we rely on:

• Your consent, for optional cookies and for marketing emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Our legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving our business, where those interests do not override your rights.
• Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, such as responding to a sales inquiry or processing a job application.
• Compliance with a legal obligation.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

If you allow Marketing cookies, information about your visit may go to advertising partners. Some privacy laws, including California's, treat that as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Turning off Marketing cookies in our Cookie Settings stops it.

We also share information with:

• Service providers who work on our behalf, including Google (Workspace for email, Analytics for site measurement), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), and GitHub (website hosting). They may only use the information to provide services to us.
• Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, and auditors, where necessary.
• Authorities, when we are required to by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
• A buyer or successor, if Bitsfront is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We will tell you if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it, then delete it.

• Inquiries and correspondence: 24 months after our last exchange with you, unless an ongoing business relationship means we need it longer.
• Job applications from candidates we do not hire: 12 months, so we can consider you for future openings and meet US recordkeeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your materials sooner.
• Marketing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. We keep a minimal suppression record after that so we do not email you again by mistake.
• Website analytics: 14 months, after which Google Analytics deletes the underlying data automatically.
• Server, delivery, and security logs: retained on a short rolling basis by our hosting and security providers, typically measured in days or weeks.

Where the law requires us to keep something longer, such as tax or employment records, we do.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting who on our team can see personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

Bitsfront is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are outside the US, this means your information may be transferred to a country whose privacy laws differ from your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or a provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
• Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete your information.
• Object to or restrict how we use your information.
• Withdraw consent you previously gave.
• Opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising.
• Receive your information in a portable format.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows. If you are in the EEA or the UK and you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our site may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies before sharing anything with them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are significant, we will give you clearer notice, such as a notice on our site or an email.
